Duplicate Post joins Yoast

I’m happy to announce that Yoast has acquired my Duplicate Post plugin for WordPress, and I’m joining their team as a senior developer to continue working on it.

As you probably know if you work with WordPress, Yoast SEO is the leading plugin for Search Engine Optimisation. But Yoast is also a key part of the wide WordPress community, supporting it in various ways (from Core development to WordCamp sponsoring).

I’m excited to join them because I’m confident that Yoast will be a great new home for Duplicate Post, and its users will benefit of all the advantages of an inventive company which can provide quality, support, vision for the future.

I also want to state that one of the conditions for me to join was to be sure that Duplicate Post would stay free: there are no plans to switch to a premium/freemium scheme, and none of its current functionalities will be removed from it.

As I recalled in my talks at WordCamps across Europe, the (almost) thirteen years since I started developing Duplicate Post have been an electrifying experience in one of the most interesting and vibrant free/libre and open source software communities. Now it’s the beginning of another amazing chapter.

Sono felice di annunciare che Yoast ha comprato Duplicate Post, il mio plugin per WordPress, e che sono entrato nel loro team come sviluppatore senior per continuare a lavorarci.

Come probabilmente sapete se lavorate con WordPress, Yoast SEO è il plugin più usato per l’ottimizzazione per i motori di ricerca. Ma Yoast è anche un elemento chiave dell’ampia comunità di WordPress, che supporta in vari modi (dallo sviluppo del core alle sponsorizzazioni dei WordCamp).

Sono entusiasta di unirmi a loro perché sono sicuro che Yoast sarà una splendida nuova casa per Duplicate Post, e i suoi utenti riceveranno tutti i vantaggi di una compagnia lungimirante che può fornire qualità, supporto, visione del futuro.

Voglio anche sottolineare che una delle condizioni per questa operazione è stata la certezza che Duplicate Post sarebbe rimasto gratis: non ci sono piani di passare ad uno schema premium/freemium, e nessuna delle sue attuali funzionalità sarà rimossa.

Come ho ricordato nei miei talk in vari WordCamp in giro per l’Europa, i (quasi) tredici anni da quando ho iniziato a sviluppare Duplicate Post sono stati un’esperienza elettrizzante in una delle comunità di software libero e open source più interessanti e vitali. Adesso è l’inizio di un nuovo eccitante capitolo.
